Black Walnut Hulls are dried, ground and ready to use. No mordanting is required although the hue will be richer if mordanted with alum sulfate first. Use at 50-100% of weight of fiber. Color yields a range of butternut to umber. Over dye with indigo for a very deep blue-black.
